Genetic Evaluation

Continuous Genetic Evaluation and Improvement All swine genetic products provided by Polar Genetics are provided by swine breeders participating in the internationally recognized Canadian Swine Improvement Program.
Through this program, Estimated Breeding Values (EBV's) are provided for various economically important characteristics including age (growth rate), back fat, pigs born per litter, lean yield, loin muscle depth and feed conversion ratio	Genetic Evaluation and Testing
Sire Line and Dam Line indexes are also generated for all animals evaluated in order to rank and predict an individual breeding animal's genetic potential. Combined with a strong emphasis on feed intake and feed conversion efficiency, continuous and reliable genetic improvement and selection decisions are achieved.
